Step 1: Open the builder

Go to PDF to Fillable. Everything runs in your browser.

Step 2: Upload the PDF

Drag your file into the editor or click to browse. Multi-page documents load page by page.

Step 3: Plan your fields

Before clicking, scan the document and note:

  • Where names, dates, and answers go → text fields
  • Yes/no questions → checkboxes
  • Pick-one questions → dropdowns
  • Fixed instructions → static text

Step 4: Place fields

Select a field type, click on the page, drag to position, resize from handles. Switch pages for multi-page forms.

Use the inspector to:

  • Name fields (email, phone, agree_terms)
  • Set dropdown option lists
  • Adjust font size for static labels

Step 5: Add non-fillable content (optional)

  • Static text for section headers
  • Images for logos
  • Signature-style text for sign-off lines

Step 6: Preview

Fill every field yourself in preview mode. Check alignment on each page.

Step 7: Export

Download the fillable PDF. Test in Acrobat or Preview before sending to recipients.
